Bird Bath 3

Painting and Nature : Rain Barrel Auction

Painted furniture has always intrigued me and here is another, Bird Bath, painted on a rain barrel for the Rainwater Revival program. Auctioned on October 25th. The proceeds go to to Hill Country schools for rainwater catchment and/or water conservation educational projects.

10/25 LizD persevered and won the auction. Thank you, Kathleen who started the bidding, with LizD and Roxanne going back and forth. The Bird Bath had the top dollar intake for this great organization, and it was a pleasure to contribute my art.

10/15/14 | Mural of Paris Remembered

Snapshot 1paris mural

A family visit to Paris commemorated in a mural. Anyone can have the Eiffel Tower but with lots of personal things included that mean so much, that is why a commissioned mural is great.
The freshly painted blue walls were the backdrop for the mural. The detail came with the buildings and structures. The scenes were connected by buildings and parks. It was so much fun hearing so many adventures of the family. My special treat was that I had two lovely apprentices help with a few areas of the mural. Thank you to my lovely patrons.

Progress of a mural
A childs imagination extended onto a wall and into the Enchanted Wood. This might last for a lifetime of dreams. The condos were fun to build.

09/09/14 | Reflections of Texas & Beyond

That’s the title for the Luling Oil Museum annual art show. It was a lovely drive through the countryside today to deliver my art. During the Luling Watermelon Thump I found this delightful museum and learned a lot about this part of Texas. Conversation ensued and I was asked to exhibit during the art show. Now how could I refuse?

The exhibit reception in Sunday, September 14, 2-6 pm and the exhibit continues through September 23. The Luling Oil Museum is at 421 E. Davis in Luling. Make a day of it, go to the farmers market, and be sure to try the BBQ or other neat little restaurants.

Prairie Call, The Guards, and Low Water Crossing will be in the exhibit.
